-Calls for continuity, consolidation, sustained progress

The Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), has made his stance known regarding the 4th term bid of Rep. Babajimi Benson as the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
The young councii boss said that the issue about Rep. Jimi Benson popularly called “JB” by constituents is beyond the tenure, rather, he said it should be about the continuity and consolidation of quality representation and sustenance of progress.
Aroyewun who is a member of the Justice Forum (JF) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was reacting to a news report in a popular national daily in which one Mrs Ibiyemi Sani, who claimed to be Vice Chairman of the Justice Forum and the woman leader of the APC in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, claimed that there was opposition to JB’s 4th term bid.
He condemned the woman’s view as a gross misrepresentation of JF.

”As the Executive Chairman of this LCDA and a committed member of the Justice Forum, I reject any attempt to misrepresent the stance of our political family or to project personal opinions as a collective decision. The Justice Forum is a structured and disciplined platform that does not operate through fragmented or unauthorised voices.
”From my direct engagement with residents, community leaders, youth groups, artisans, and stakeholders across our wards and CDAs, the reality is unmistakable: there is strong, consistent, and growing support for Hon. Babajimi Benson.
”This support is not built on sentiment; it is built on visible performance, accessibility, and sustained impact.
”Hon. Benson has redefined representation in Ikorodu Federal Constituency. His work speaks in roads, schools, healthcare facilities, empowerment programmes, and opportunities that have directly improved the lives of our people.”

He said that the issue of JB’s return to the House is beyond a tenure, but a continuity and sustenance of progress and good governance.
“For me, this conversation goes beyond tenure. It is about continuity, consolidation, and sustained progress.
”Development is not accidental. It is built over time through relationships, experience, and capacity. Disrupting that momentum without compelling reason risks reversing hard-earned gains.
”Hon. Babajimi Benson has not only delivered projects; he has built a development pipeline that continues to attract federal presence to our constituency. That kind of capacity is not easily replaced,” Aroyewun made his position known.

While stating that JF engages in responsible politics, Aroyewun emphasised that the group always build consensus and dialogue.
”As a proud member of the Justice Forum, I emphasise that our tradition is one of dialogue, respect, and strategic consensus, not public contradiction or political sensationalism.
”No responsible political group undermines a performing representative who has delivered value to the people consistently.
He re- emphasised his support for Rep. Benson’s re – election stating that his support was based on verified and confirmed performance by the lawmaker with direct impacts on the people.
”I, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, stand firmly and unapologetically in support of Hon. Babajimi Benson.

”This position is informed by: Verified performance, Direct impact on our communities, Consistent engagement with the people and Proven leadership capacity.”
He urged Ikorodu Federal Constituents not to allow themselves to be distracted and enjoined them to give support for the lawmaker’s re- election.
”At this critical moment, I urge our people to stay focused on what truly matters: development, stability, and progress.
”We must resist distractions and avoid narratives that do not reflect the will of the majority.
”Our constituency has come too far to be divided by misrepresentation.”
Aroyewun listed JB’s track records in the area of infrastructural development, security, healthcare, human capital development, community development, legislative excellence, all that he said has earned him national recognition.
